Nick Longhi
2010–2013 • Co-Driver & Technical Director • 2x Champion
Biography
Nick Longhi joined Rum Bum Racing in 2010 as a spotter before moving to the driver’s seat mid-season, beginning one of the most successful driver pairings in Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge history.
Professional Background
Beyond his role at Rum Bum Racing, Nick brought extensive professional experience as a race engineer, development driver, and coach across multiple series including Indy Lights, Barber Dodge Pro Series, Speed World Challenge, Rolex GT, Ferrari Challenge, and Historic racing.
Nick also serves as Chief Instructor and Director at the Ferrari Driving Experience, where he shapes the next generation of performance drivers. His combination of racing prowess, technical knowledge, and teaching ability made him an invaluable asset both behind the wheel and in the paddock.
Championship Years
The partnership of Plumb and Longhi proved formidable. Together they won the 2012 team championship, though a technicality at Lime Rock regarding minimum drive time prevented them from claiming the drivers’ title that year. They made no such mistakes in 2013, capturing both the team and drivers’ championships.
Lime Rock Dominance
Few tracks showcased the Plumb-Longhi combination better than Lime Rock Park. The duo achieved four consecutive podiums at the Connecticut circuit, including three wins in four years—a remarkable run of consistency at one of America’s most challenging road courses.
Transition to Technical Director
After stepping away from driving duties, Nick continued his invaluable contribution to Rum Bum Racing as Technical Director, applying his engineering expertise and racing knowledge to keep the team at the front of the field.
“The best teams are built on trust. Matt and I understood each other completely.”
